BIO
Hi! My name is Adeline (Ah-deh-leen) Newmann, and I’m an interdisciplinary artist and immersive experience designer engaged with drawing, animation, installation, XR/extended reality, and creative technology.
My practice integrates projection mapping, illumination, light, and play to excavate tangled histories and stories about public health, medicine, feminism, mortality, economics, deep time, and ecologies.
I have a BFA in Experimental Animation from CalArts, and an MFA in Studio Art from Michigan State University. My background includes art, film, design, music, theater, and themed entertainment.
As an Imagineer, I was a Video Media Designer/VFX Designer with a focus on projection mapping and technical video integration (including in-field installation) for attractions in the US, Hong Kong, and Japan, including multiple Thea Award winning attractions.
My creative work has been screened, exhibited, and performed nationally and internationally, including at Tallinn Music Week, Estonian Music Days, The Walt Disney Concert Hall, REDCAT, Zipper Hall, Pueblo Film Festival, (SCENE)Metrospace, The MSU Museum, The Eli and Edythe Broad Art Museum, Lansing ArtPath7, The Grand Rapids Art Museum, and Var Gallery. I was a Spring 2025 Artist in Residence at Prairie Ronde Artist Residency.
